Accessing online parking services with SPID and CIE
The Supa Parking portal can integrate with SPID and the Electronic Identity Card (CIE), allowing citizens to access municipal parking services with their digital identity. Users can request, renew and view permits without creating credentials dedicated to the individual service.
Why use SPID and CIE for parking permits?
SPID and CIE are the identification tools used to access Italian public-administration online services. Including them in the parking portal gives citizens a familiar access method and allows the authority to link the session to a verified identity.
Authentication does not replace the checks required by regulations. Residence, vehicle availability, category membership and documents must still be checked through the sources and procedures defined by the municipality.
How does access work?
A typical process includes:
- the citizen opens the permit portal;
- chooses access through SPID or CIE;
- completes authentication in the identity system;
- returns to the Supa Parking portal with the data provided by the integration;
- views existing applications or starts a new request.
The security level, received attributes and data retention are defined according to the service and the authority's configuration.
Online applications with verified identity
After signing in, citizens can use the functions enabled by the municipality: new application, renewal, payment, plate reporting, document upload and status consultation.
Digital identity reduces the need for proprietary registrations, but does not imply automatic approval of an application. The municipality retains control of the conditions and administrative-review steps.
Connection with pagoPA and plate-based control
SPID or CIE identifies the user; pagoPA manages any payment to the authority; Supa Parking manages the application, permit, area, validity and plate. The three components have distinct roles within the same digital service.
After issue, operators can check the permit by plate without asking the citizen for a paper pass.
Integration requirements
Activation depends on the architecture chosen by the authority: connection as a service provider, use of an aggregator or integration through the existing municipal portal. Before release, configuration, attributes, test environments, access levels and privacy management must be checked.
